Putting a 93 LT1/T56 in my 55 Chevy...
Need all the front end motor parts,
You know, alt, ps pump, AC pump,
Pulleys, tensioners,
Unfortunately, no auto wrecking yards over here,
Just want to bolt some old, good quality GM stuff
on and hit the road...
Don't like any of the so called "high end" stuff
The aftermarket shows, looks like s#£€ and
Way too $$$pendy.
Any ideas?
Willy

Try eBay or the Classic Chevy online store.

The '94-96 Caprice, Roadmaster and Cadillac all had the LT1 during these years (in addition to the Camaro, Firebird and Corvette) so all the engine front stuff from any of these should work. Boneyard possibly or ebay.

The story I got when trying to find a good P/S pump pulley was that complete engine assemblies are in demand so the parts yards don't want to seperate the parts. I will PM you.

Stan

It's all good. mostly

Thanks,
I'm still looking for a complete setup, if I can find one. Stock stuff is fine with me. Unfortunately I had a bad injury in June that slowed me way down, no work on that car since then, but I can keep looking for parts.
Aloha,
Willy

There are several wrecking yards that spcialize in camaro and firebird stuff. The best way to find them is ebay. Camarohawk or hawks or something like that. They do alot of engine/trannys complete too.

I just did another 4th gen from ebay. Bloody seats were a pia to truck freight with no fork lift at home.

Good luck.

Hi, where are you? I live in Ka'a'awa Valley.

I'd watch Craigslist. About 3 weeks ago there was a Roadmaster (94? I know it was an LTI) here (O'ahu) with about 55k mi they were asking $1000 for, and until a week or so ago there was a donked out LTI Caprice that went from several thousand to I recall $500 after the seller took off the 22" wheels. I'm pretty sure if you go on Craigslist every day you'll find a whole car cheap. If you have AAA you can have it towed to your place "for free". That's going to be the cheapest way I'd think.

I have a '92 Caprice wagon that is a total rust out on my front lawn, has a still working 700R4 (probably 90k on it). It had 230k mi on it when I stopped driving it (iron 305) 1 1/2 years ago but I don't think any of those parts work on LTI's. I'm trying to find time to take it apart and box up all the parts I might need later before I salvage it. It has all the front end motor parts one would need to run a SB Chevy in analog form (serpentine belt system, alt/pwr steering brackets etc). It has the whole TBI system but like I said it had 230 miles on it and the rust is probably beyond anything anyone here has seen since it's 50' from the beach.

You could run an ad on Craigslist saying you want a parts vehicle or just the particular parts. I've run wanted ads there before and put them in the for sale section because you reach way more people there. People search for things like "Caprice" or "Roadmaster" but I've got very few responses when I've put ads in the Wanted section there.

There's a lot of abandoned projects here now and I've see bubbles going for ultra-cheap in the last year or so. Donkification seems to be over and on O'ahu few people have space to store cars. I got another '92 Caprice with 55k mi for $800 at a dealer out by the airport, they put those cars at the back of the lot because they don't want to give a buyer the option of buying a cheap car that they took it in on a trade so that's another place to find cheap cars.

Aloha
