Some one very knowledgeable about cowl induction call me. I need some help with it.
72 SS 4 Speed. 402 stock.
1. Flapper closes when engine turned on, 2. Flapper opens when turned off. 3. Step on gas hard and Flapper does NOT open. I put Flow control check valve in today, it did not have one before, but operated the same. The vacuum port I'm using is rear (Pass side) of intake manifold, nothing else is teed off it. I don't know what the vacuum is. (Example 0-25) Call me 719-360-9122

Here's a link to all kinds of wiring diagrams for 72 SS and vacumn diagrams too.

Johnhem, thanks for the link.

I have the vacuum set up the way it is in the diagram. I just purchased a vacuum gauge and I have 10-13 in of vac at idle. When I step on it it goes off to 40 then zero, which should be when the flapper opens. Arrrrgg not working.

There has been previous discussion on this subject on this forum. Don't know if there's any help here or not but you can check.

Ray,
Did you ever get the CI hood operating as it should? I am extremely familiar with the 70-72 CI hoods and would be very happy to help if I can.
Also, I almost never look at the Chevelle section here on Chevytalk because I participate on the Team Chevelle forums MOST of the time. If I can help, PM me or call me, 405-745-8383.
The below links are my 70 Chevelle and shows how the CI hood SHOULD work.
