Quit surprised that I have not seen anything posted about the GM Nats at Carlisle or even the 348-409 Drags/Show at Mason-Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown, MD. Bother are the same weekend...
Carlisle June 25, 26, 27 & 28
Mason-Dixon Dragway June 27

And we all know how that goes.....when you get there, it STARTS

A few years back I heard the GM Nats were sort of dying on the vine. Has it gotten any better?

I can't say of they have got any better. After the Invitational 2 years ago, I told that I would not be back. It was a big let down. Especially with the Camaro's and GTO's having their Nationals else where the same weekend or the weekend before. Just like showing my extremely low mileage '62. 2 years ago the HIGH temperatures (over 100 degrees) could also have had an impact on attendance. I know it did with the Chrysler Nationals in July the same year. But there other factors them for that.

PS, the 348-409 get together is the same weekend this years at the Mason-Dixon Dragway (not far away) the same weekend.

carlisle used to be a blast in the '00-04 range. i used to go every year and have 2 best in class trophies. i quit going when the camaros pulled out, and had been toying around with going back one of these years. if any of you go let me know.

It's time to think about the Carlisle GM Nats again. I believe I am going, just waiting to hear from my friend with a 66 GTO. Darn sure am not going under an Invitational this time. This way I can leave when I feel like it.

I plan on going. I didn't get to any Carlisle event last year due to weddings and weather.

None of the shows are what they used to be since the one founding member passed away. I noticed a lot of vendors pulled out after that. I don't know if it has anything to do with the way it is run now or what. Eastwood used to have two or three big tents but now don't even come...and they are headquartered close by.

I've never been to Carlisle & have been told I should sometime, but with it being different now, some of those that've told me I should go say it really isn't the same. Kinda like Route 66; I'm glad I went when I did in 2009 ... because many of the people I met are now no longer with us. Wish I'd gone to Carlisle in the heyday.

Oh, I agree ... NEVER too late. I just don't see attending happening for me now. Never know, tho, of course. Hope you have fun!

Leaving at 4 am.
Unless I hit mega millions.

Getting off 95 at Stamford
81 has better scenery.

I almost took the Pontiac
this AM .

The Olds made it almost to Mass border,
then
"Engine service soon" light goes on.
Running a little rough.
Pull over, everything fine.
Light went out.
Checked manual it's NOT oil pressure.
IS ignition or emission related?
Reverse direction,
Bacon and eggs,
Home,
Nap,
Post.

I just got back. Fewest vendors ever and I won't go again. Even GM themselves didn't have their performance display. Not sure what the root cause is.

1967 Belair - perfect floor, frame and pinchwelds. Oh boy.

I apologize for coming in late, after watching the weather we decided not to go. Appears it was a good decision. I was going to lay a for sale sign on the seat and that appears not many at all would have seen it. A friend the attendance as others had mentioned was way down

That's a nice ride.
I had a '62 283 glide in 1970.

Where is that event?
