Awesome looking project.

How do you maintain the weight distribution on that set up?

The aluminum heads help a lot but it will never have factory weight distribution of a stock Corvair , I'm just going to be VERY careful driving it. My rear engine 327 Corvair handles quite well ,this swap is likely about 100 pounds heavier then the 327 car so it should be OK. Just a fun cruise night car :)traction should be good

Is that a stock Corvair gearbox and differential? If yes, how do you keep it together?

Yes trans and differential are Corvair items but both have been beefed up. Used with care these two parts will hold up for street use. She's not a race car

That's an awesome build. How do you circulate the water. I noticed it doesn't have a water pump. Do you have an external pump somewhere? That thing is classic. Thanks for sharing.

That is an amazing job and justifies all the pride you have in it. It always delights me that so few hot rodders know or understand that reverse rotation is necessary for a Corvair, I learned the hard way in, in 68 I put an iron duke in an (old)61 and after finding my mistake was saving up for a reverse rotation cam. As luck would have it I was given an old boat with a 283 that no one wanted as it ran backwards, it's mate now running in a 53 Chevy coupe. I have grown old and lazy but I can still appreciate good work when I see it. Congrats on a job well done..

Hey, look at that geeky guy in the 4 door Corvair; what, where'd he go? Been reading about this over on the HAMB. S-L-E-E-P-E-R!!!!! And I thought I had an "affliction". I'd say you're the King of the Korvairs. Sounds like an R an B or Motown group from the 60's. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
