I'm rounding the final turn in this restoration. I am trying to refurb/fix my original seat. The frame is OK, but the springs are shot, particularly on the bottom. The "regular" sources (chevy of 40s, etc) don't seem to provide/have spring or rebuilt kits. I've got a professional seat/upholstry guy on it, but he's stumped. Any ideas???

I'm having the same problem. If you find a source, let me know. I'll let u know if I find a fix.

Hi, I'm new here but just wanted to add a thought. I have what appears to be a rebuilt seat in my '46. It is exactly like a full restored '42 seat I looked at.

If I was doing a seat in one of these, I would upgrade the springs to be much stronger. The original springs are much too soft, IMO, and leave for an unsupported seat that bounces around a lot.

Has anyone upgraded the springs to be firmer so the seat is less bouncy?
