Jay,
Good to see that you got the rear centered in the wheel well. The earlier pics showed it more offset. Nice job so far. Keep up the good work!

Ok I spent Friday and Saturday working on my car, now I decided to tackle the inner fenders which I have been dreading, and cannot seem to find any for love nor money over here, firstly I got them from my storage unit too see how bad they were, they didn't look too bad on first look....

And to be fair the drivers on is very good compared to what happened when I took the heater unit out lol...

When I flipped it I could see it would be bad

Once I had assessed how bad I had to start making new sections of the fender,

I then tacked them all into place for my mate Jon to weld properly as I'm not that good at welding ( seem to blow more holes than stick the metal together lol),

And how it looks now, I'm pleased with the result and when welded fully will have plenty of strength back in it.

Next job was to strip and repair the heater unit, it needed a bit of welding but now a lot, I found a makers plate round the back, it's a Harrison which I think is quite common on Chevys of the 40s-50s.

I have stripped the core out and cleaned it up and done one small bit of welding that needed doing, it's now ready for zinc primer inside and out!

Well that's what I've been upto this weekend all in all a productive one

Ok the next job I had seems I had a long weekend was to get the chassis painted and do the last bits of welding under the rear, I'm not the best welder in the world so I made the plates and I got my good friend and fellow rodder Jon to stick them in, when I had them welded and ground up ready for paint I cleaned and got it ready then run out of time so had to push it back in its resting place for the week while I went off to work

Ok so a week has gone by and I managed to get it on my friends ramp and get the frame gloss blacked

Well that's all I did this time round but so glad I've got past this big hurdle, next week I have to repair my rear arches and then that's most of the welding done!!!

Next job I did was to repair my rear arches, only got one pic of this but it did take me all day to do both sides

Next job I have is to get my firewall and dashboard painted up and then I can start to get it back together which will be a big relief as it's always nice to start bolting bits back together and start feeling like you are over the brow of the hill and on the way down lol...

Hi all, been ages since ive updated and i do apologise but been slogging away at project and not feeling like ive been achieving much, but in the last couple of months its really started taking shape, ive managed to get 70% of the wiring done, ended up using an ez wiring harness, not the easiest to fit but it was pretty straight forward even if the instructions left a lot to be desired. Ive also had the first run out of it which sounds really nice now, ive made a custom exhaust system which i brought out through the rear bumper as later on im going to fit a taildragger but i really want to have her on the road this year so im not going to get involved in doing the taildragger till ive had some fun out of it lol. Also ive fitted my wilwood front discs and master cylinder so as soon as i have bled the brakes i will be able to have my first drive in it.
My job at the moment is trying to repair my front inner fenders as they were totally shot but as im in the uk its near on impossible to get parts.
Lastly i couldnt have done all this without my good friend jons advice and help when i got stuck lol (which was a lot more than i'd like to admit lol).

here are a few pictures i have firstly of the wiring....

as you can see its a spaghetti nightmare lol but i got there in the end...

The next major job i did was to fit the wilwood front disc conversion, this again was a very easy task the instuctions were very clear and i can only say what an excellent kit this is....

I have this and the new master cylinder fitted plus all the pipework plumbed in.
Next I made the rest of the exhaust but did do one cock up where i made it too tight to the rear axle and had to remake a bit, You can see i have it coming out of the rear bumper and will make it rattle proof lol when i finally fit it and have painted the rear bumper...

and yes i know ones pointing up in the air but its disconnected underneath so flapping about a bit lol..
these are half way through making the over axle parts...

And i had to relieve the rear crossmember but welded in 1/4 half round pipe so its as tough as before...

Lastly here is a couple of pics of how she looks now please excuse the green wheels, im just in the process of getting some new ones ordered...

One other job which was a real pain in the rear was making the gearchange linkage it took so many fit and removes to get it to work just right you wouldnt believe lol.
anyway thats where i am at the moment im hopefully going to be getting on with bits and bobs and making more progress shortly! thanks for looking Jason.
