Looking to find out more about the Baldwin Motion Vegas and would like to read the 1973/74 article "King Kong Lives on Long Island" in Car Craft.

Anybody have it?

Thanks,
Larry

Hello Larry,I have that issue live in front of me right now.Theres really nothing of value in the article. The issue is Car Craft,January 1974.They talk about driving a Big block Vega around town and having it overheat and handle badly. There are pics of the rear suspension and a few remarks about what a Badass car it is.I have a V8 Vega myself right now.It only has a small block, though I have already dropped in A 454 with a tunnel ram and dual quads for curiositys sake.Lots of cutting with a torch to get header clearance.Big block headers $600.Small block about the same.No ground clearance even with small block in car.Ive been playing with cars for 40 years and with all the time, trouble and EXPENSE would never choose this car to play with again.Where are you located?Ill gladly sell you my car.

Thanks for the response. I did find somebody to scan the article on another forum. I was looking for information on the Motion Vegas built in the 70s.
I live in VA. PM me the info on your car.

Thanks,
Larry

I stumbled on this thread and have wondered for a few years why no one had tried to drop an LS into one of these. Another idea would be a forced induction EcoTech 2.0L. Those motors can easily deliver over 400HP, are light, and small. Small car, light powerful engine and perhaps an independent rear suspension. I can see this in my mind as a pretty trick ride. Doing a search I have found several really trick looking ones. What am I missing that would make this so tough?

Even headers aren't essential since the 1975-79 Monza, etc. had a factory V8 option hence exhaust manifolds that will fit a Vega.
