I have been having a problem with my 83 Malibu that I can't seem to fix. The car started out just having a rough spot while accelerating as well as sometimes popping back through the carb so I rebuilt the carb including a new accelerator pump. This didnt fix the problem and as time went by the car started running rough at idle as well as the other problems. I then replaced the cap and rotor as well as the spark plug wires. I also tried a throttle position sensor and a mixture control solenoid with no luck. I checked the solenoid dwell and it is running around a constant 22 degrees, but when the car starts to bog down the dwell jumps between 22 up to about 35 degrees. The car has the 229 engine with a rochester dualjet carb. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
