Hey, I'm there, in spirit anyway!
Art, I set out with two ice chests full of beer strapped on the nose of my 12 footer, the nose sank at least a foot and I'm trying to paddle it, and about a mile or two out, I run out of beer and have to turn around and go back for more beer!
We're up to the fourth ice chest now, but still on the beach here. We are looking forward to vids on ChevyTalk. Or, PM me, and you can text me and send pix or vid.

We stayed at the Choice Hotel in Santa Clarita. Thursday night. Was going to try and slip into CFAC Saturday morning, but my Sister in Law ended up in the hospital this Friday morning, so looks like I won't make it. Hope all have a great time.

I am also sending good thoughts to your SIL.
I had a great time at the CFAC show in spite of having an allergy attack that would not respond to meds. On the way home in my Buick I threw a tread on my left rear tire. We limped home and i'm going in for 4 new tires on Monday.
the award for "Hard luck story" has to go to Thadd McNamarra. After spending over 3 weeks ( and almost $4,000 ) getting his '57 Nomad ready for the show, he picked me up and we headed to the fairgrounds. I was following him in my car and there was some smoke coming out of the right tailpipe. When we got to the 22 off ramp the smoke looked like a destroyer laying down smoke for a battle group. We sat by the side of the road until the AAA sent a truck to take us home. he was very disappointing that he could not bring pizza for the Friday night ers. I can hardly wait for next year.

Hey Willy,
We missed ya for sure this time. But we knew you were here with us in spirit.
High turnout of open top cars this time..because the weather was so perfect. Just some outstanding cars that actually get driven.
And Jr's wagon was in fine condition too. He provided the hauling for Tony this year.
No CT Beach theme this year. Takes a whole F250 to lug it all there, and the setup and teardown are something to be reckoned with, but maybe next year if we can get a few more of you to bring surfboards, kiddee pools, etc.
Thadd, DON'T SELL THE NOMAD...no matter how frustrated you are with it. Maybe you busted a ring and a simple engine cleanup-overhaul is all you need... If we need to have another day in your garage working on it, then lets get the troops together and pull that motor and take a look.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Looked good but doing some more tests. We were heading down to see my wifes brother as he has had cronic heart disease for 27 years, and had an episode last week. He says he has outlived 3 of his heart doctors.
I plan on coming down next year. Don't know if I will bring the 48, time will tell.

Thanks Steve, it was a pleasure meeting you too. Cruisin' for a Cure was the best car show I've been to; I'm glad I went.

Paul mentioned getting a "Help Thadd Pull His Motor" party at my house.
That would be wonderful..If you guys are up for coming to help me out, I would provide the food and drinks (especially for you Art).
If you guys are up for it, give me a date that would be amenable to all..The weekend of October 12-13 is out, but any other time (even this weekend) would work for me.
What say you???
The last one was an opportunity for C-Ters to get together and help a pal, and I really appreciated it. This is a chance for another social get together that everyone can participate in.

Sounds like this could be an interesting party. Let's check to see if we have the tools to do the job. Did you make any progress on the bottom end? I think if we had a good bottom end with a cam installed we could do a top end install and reinstall it back in the car in a day.

Ok...Hypr Bob and I are up for this challenge...
How many of the rest of you could spend a day in Palos Verdes at Thadds garage turning wrenches?
We haven't set a date yet, but lets have a count of hands from all of you others that would want "in" on this...

I would like to help Thadd. I will be in So Cal Oct 12 through the 18th and could get to Thadd's to help. I would really like to help sort out the problems with his Nomad.

The one weekend I can't because I have a Real Estate client coming in from overseas to buy a property and need to help one of my listings get their home ready.
