Found an early type Corvair ragtop in the junkyard.

Went to look at removing the steering box and the shaft goes right up to the wheel. What do I do, pull the wheel and the column jacket off, then pull the box and the shaft out the bottom?

Sawzall not an option here.

Well, I got it out okay, it came right apart. I just pulled the column out from inside and the rest out the bottom.
