I put a Quadrajet on my monte it had a 2 brl half Q jet before. looked like everything was the same but now cables and kick down wont reach the carb. Was it the brackets or cables that are different???

I guess what you are saying is that you went from a Dualjet to a Quadrajet. From what I have seen, the hookups are identical.

Your Dualjet should have had the snap on type pivoting connections, right?

yes they are the same but too short about an inch or so from reaching now

I did a similar swap on a '73 Camaro,had to get new cables for the throttle and trans.kickdown.
