Interesting interview. I have yet to see it in person because THERE WERE NO C7'S AT THE CLEVELAND AUTO SHOW!!! From hearing that they look better in person and from this and other interviews, I will withhold judgement.
I will say this however... Jeep all but came out and admitted *their* mistake in the round to square game.

It looks like it has teardrops. Did it kill someone in prison?

Somewhere in that blah blah blah, is a teenager thinking, "Ohh my God! I just screwed up the Corvette."
And I'm getting heat before it even comes out!
I would need to see it in person, but, the LED reflection looks cool. The design,...... time will tell for me.

REMINEST OF THE OLD WIDE BODY'S
SIDE EXHAUST WOULD FURTHER ENHANCE THAT REAREND.

I will admit that I don't think round tail lights would look good on this car. Also, I'm glad they put some thought and design in the rear end instead of looking like the C5 & C6 where it looks like they ran out of money and just cut it off. Yes, Camaro & Corvette had similar tail light treatments in the past, BUT the Corvette had it FIRST. Corvette has always been a leader in design, not a follower. THAT'S the part that irritates me, not so much their design. I don't care that a Camaro looks like a Corvette, but not the other way around.

I like his explanation- that he wanted to "push" the needle of design and not make it old.
Except that if you REALLY wanted to push the envelope and do something fresh...
...then you shouldn't have called it a "stingray". You could have called it the Corvamaro or something.
To say that "round" didn't work means that they were not trying hard enough.
