Someone snapped this pic of me at a local event a few weeks ago:

The 64 looks real good especially with the ww tires.

Thanks man. The originals on the car were tired and getting yellow (they were Futura brand) so I just got that new set two weeks ago- they are Coopers.

I've never seen another 2 door 64 bel air on the street, only in magazines and online. That black one is pretty cherry. Here's mine:

Runs good, just need to put it back together and then it will be my daily.

the only others i have seen in real life in NJ/NY/PA are 4-doors.

yours looks nice- i like the color! good luck with the project and definitely post more photos!

Looks great! just like my bud had one, dual quad 09 4speed. He sold it Nov.2012 for a 65 GTO 4speed tri-power car. Now that's a sleeper till he hit the loud peddle.(the 64 )it had the poverty caps also.

looks like a convert, you can see the original brake lines in the second picture taped off.

PS love the steering wheel, what is it.

Yes it is a converted Right Hand Drive. Legislation in our country makes it difficult to register LHD's. The Impala arrived at her new home today for the restoration to start :
This is the LQ9 that will go into the car:

And the 4L60E that will partner the LQ9.

Here's my 62 Impala. Crate 350, 400 tranny, new rims n tires. Runs great down the road. Needs bodywork of course, but I'll get to it later. For now I'll keep driving and enjoying it.

Hi Everyone,
Have just got my 62 SS on the road and it seems to be going really well. Still a bit of work to do with the Air Conditioning and few other things. It's not totally back to stock but it's pretty close.
Enjoy the photos

Hi Carl,
We are looking forward to the Chev Festival and hoping that the 62 makes it as I haven't had a chance to put to many miles on it yet and at the moment I'm working in New Zealand for the next few weeks. So we will have to catchup while we are down in your part of the country.

Bruce

Terrific news. I've done the trip to Gympie and back in mine, up and down the east coast. They love to stretch their legs, these old girls. I see you found a nice one-piece rear bumper - very nice.

Cheers, Carl.
