I have an 05 C6 with manual 6spd. Owning it for one year, it came up with "Service Column Lock" twice. First was while it was in the garage and the 3rd or 4th time I tried to start it, warning went away and it started. Recently, I had it parked on a short driveway incline and this time the warning stuck. Fortunately, there were enough people around to push it ahead to be more level, after which it started. Anybody know what's going on? My only theory is putting the steering wheel in a locked position, it can create a bind that the electronic release mechanism can't overcome, whereas most cars with a key lock can force it with a little jiggling. Any ideas would be welcome. Owners manual just says to tow it to GM, which would have been near impossible last time, not to speak of costly, inconvenient and embarassing!
