Same engine I have in several of my cars. 5 qts. 10-30. I also use a zinc additive available at many auto parts stores. Use 1/2 qt. and back off oil to 4 1/2 qts.

Thanks.
What filter you guys use.
AC Delco site shows the PF-25 and the PF-454.

I have not pulled the Monte Out of the garage in about 3 yrs. (I have license tags for 2010,2011,2012 sitting on the front seat).
I have started the engine every so often.
This past week I spent my afternoons shining up the chrome on the front end. I do need to get a new battery too. the other one was new- but I let it discharge fully several times- and now wont hold a charge.
It all started when the missus- got pregnant.... hes now 2 yrs old- and the 2nd one is 8 months old.... you know how that goes.

So I did change oil n filter. Drove the car for maybe 5 miles?
Parked the car..fast forward 11 yrs...
Car has sat in there.
I checked oil, looked clear. But without having seen this thread, i would not have remembered i changed oil and filter.
Well my kids are now 13 and 14.
The 13 yr old helped me get the 64 c20 running and out of garage.
The montes tires are dry rotted.
1 inch whitewalls.
1 tire went flat. Up against the wall.
Anyways. Ill be getting it new tires etc and other things to get it moving again.
Glad i found this thread..... man.... 11 yrs...

uh, i like 10-30 synthetic, 2 quart filter (dodono why they call it 2 cause it only fits 1) big rare earth magnet on the filter and one more stuck to the bottom of the oil pan (do not ever move it). and yes the secret sauce, zinc.
