Here are a couple photos of my '57 Bel Air taken on the day I put it in storage before I PCS'd to Alaska.

It's come a long way from where I started. Unfortunately, I won't be able to work on it until sometime after July 2015 when I return to the lower 48 states.

56' four door wagon. it's a work in progress. I'll open a Go Fund Me account if you want to help speed things up.
It's a 30 over 350 with a forged bottom end and a B&M 144 Supercharger. Trans is a 4L80E thru a Ford 8.8 out back that came out of a 2004 Bronco, 3.73 gears, Trak Lock posi, 31 spline axles and 12 inch disc brakes. The front brakes will be upgraded to 13 inch 4 puck Corvette brakes. Its got 11 inch now.
I've fitted 275R60-15's on the back and it looks like I can get 295R60-15's in that wagon wheel well with my setup. 29.5 inches tall and 12 inches wide with no tubs.
The front body work is roughed in, under the dash. RainGear wipers, Digital Dash and new wiring and a Vintage Air heating and cooling unit. Found a nice pair of bucket seats out of a SUV, 8 way electric on the drivers side and three way on the passenger side.
Fitting the 4L80E is a challenge, think of a TH400 with an extra .75 overdrive gear, 31.5 inches long and beefy. It's a 2000 year model with a TransGo kit installed and a TCI triple disc lock up torque converter. Cooling is handled with a Derale external fluid cooler with it's own thermostat and cooling fan. Had to use banjo fittings on the side of the trans so the fluid lines would hug the side to get the trans to fit. Waiting for Edelbrock to release their trans controller in Dec of 2020, so I'll hot wire the trans just to get it to move in and out of the shop. Videos on YouTube show how it's done.
The drive shaft is a project on it's own, a flange on the back end to fit the Ford 8.8, the 4L80 has it's yoke, with a 1350 universal joint, bolted to the trans, so the slip has to be built into the drive shaft itself. Good thing there's a driveshaft shop close by.
I get lots of advise from my brother that's been drag racing 55's and 57's in Ohio for years. He can put them together so they won't break. His 55, 415 inch SBC, with a 6-71 supercharger run's in the high 9's at 135 mph and with just a carburetor, 11.50's in the quarter mile.
