Any body had problems with the front wheel "hub bearings" making noise? My wife has a 2007 HHR with 70K on the clock and the front drivers side has started to make a humming sound. It only starts out at 25 or 30 when the car gets rolling and almost go's away over 70.

BTW tire noise has been ruled out.

My o6 Impala with 80,000 on the clock, was making a noise like that. Alignment was off just enough to make the tires generate noise (in fact had to replace right front). I'd check that first, especially if you have just put on new tires. Might give the struts, heck the whole front end a once over along with that many miles. I'm here to tell you that front bearing assembly is a bit spendy.

Hi Tricia,

I haven't taken it back to the dealer we purchased it from yet, but I intend to. I think if it is a bad front wheel hub bearing that would be covered under the 5 year 100k warranty????

I would be happy to look into the warranty information for you with your VIN and current mileage. Thank you.

Tom,

It appears under normal circumstances that this would be covered under your Powertrain Warranty; however I would recommend contacting your local dealer for more specific information. Please feel free to keep me posted.

Sorry for the Delay in getting back with an end result to the problem we had with our HHR. We took it in to the dealer and it in fact was a hub bearing noise. Dealer replaced under warranty and the car is back to normal. thank Chevrolet!
