Installing carpet in my coupe. What are you using to cover the edge of the carpet to the sill plate?

Doesn't the sill plate lay on top of the carpet and then screws hold it and the carpet in place

48s originally did not have carpet on the front floor. They had a rubber mat. So since the carpet is not original, you could have a carpet shop sew binding on the edge, or serge the edge. If you lay the sill plate on top of the carpet edge to hold it in place, every time you want to check the brake fluid (master cylinder access in floorboard) you'll have to take up the sill plate instead of just folding the mat (or carpet) up to get to it.

I thought the front had a rubber matt and the back had carpet. As I recall, Hampton Coach had samples for carpet.
