got another set of hinges with the mods i made to the first set. they look good, although i need a few things changed LOL. my dad thinks im nuts, but i just want to make sure its as close to perfect as it can be. bushings and pin fit good. everything looks good tho. check out the pictures. my first set will be made next week, then i will do another test fit, then he will roll out 50 sets. pretty excited. he will also be making the little sleeves for the hinges for me, but in stainless steel. its a long process, im very impatient, but it will be worth the wait

Looks good. Next you need to get someone to repro the sleeves that go around the hinges in the tailgate opening. The wagon guys need these too. Though I plan to go with a delivery gate on my wagon and, as I said, try to do hidden hinges on my Nomad. So neither of those things will help me, they are still sorely needed. Good going Mike.

Sorry Mike. I did read the post, but that part didn't sink in. Since the part isn't stainless from the factory, my brain must have thought you were talking about something else.

I knew you weren't serious, but I was. My brain just not process the info correctly.
I am going to modify the lower gate on the Nomad. But the Handyman wagon is getting the sedan delivery door. I like the one piece look for the Handyman. I wouldn't mind a one piece door for the Nomad either. I have seen it on two of them and it looks great, but one was pieced together with the original liftgate and was cracking in the seam. The other I have never seen close up, but from what I understand, it had a custom made liftgate made of mild steel and was welded to the tailgate. My guess is that one is holding up better than the pot metal one joined to the lower gate.

Kindigit in Salt lake engineered and made a set of hinges for a '55 nomad. Made a hidden hinge that opened and closed in such a way that protected the paint and completely hid the hinges and no cutouts in the lower outside tailgate skin. I'd pay good money for a kit!
