I haven't been able to post any shots recently. I stopped by today and they're almost done with their end. Some finish welding on the cage, bars for seat mounts, then finish the floor and trans tunnel and the rack and pinion conversion mounts. Then it's off to the powder coaters with the frame and the tins. The body is still removable. I didn't like having to have the dash cut to go around the cage, but it too has to remain removable. They said they will mount a plate to the cowl to attach the cut ends to.

Here's the renarrowed rear:

Here's the side tire clearance. Ride height will be set later:

Here's the tins, the new cell and the front of the cage:

And the smoothed firewall:

lol. They have the dummy motor in there to bolt the tranny case to for the trans mount and tunnel mock up. I wish I could say I were doing all of this myself, but with no tubing bender, brake or bead roller and no TIG welder it would have cost me almost as much as paying these guys and it would have taken a lot longer. It's almost ready to come home and have me work on it. You may be getting a few PMs when I do Robert. For now though, I have to get my shop up and running before I can do anything. I have to get my frame for my El Camino home and do the repairs and mods on it before the wagon comes home too.

I'll have another update on soon. Unfortunately it looks like any bodywork will have to wait until at least spring.

No way that's making it to the O.C. cruise. Still tons of work to do. My Silverado is the only thing making it there for the next year or so. The El Camino will hopefully be comong off the frame next year and the wagon will progress over the next spring and summer. I may have a temporary engine and trans in it to work out any bugs by the end of next summer, but it won't be painted and the real engine in it until 2012.
