Here are some basic details and pics of my 79 Malibu......
Obviously, 79 a Malibu.
code 61 medium beige paint
Frame-off
Energy Suspension everything
all the "F-41" braces
350 4-bolt bored .040 over
stock crank and redone connecting rods
SpeedPro flattop hyper pistons with Hastings rings
World S/R Torquer heads
Edelbrock EPS intake
Holley 670 Street Avenger carb
Mallory HEI ignition (no boxes)
unknown Craigslist headers with Jegs 2 1/2"dual mandrel system
Iceman first-edition X-member
TH-350 with shift kit
7.5" 2.73 posi rear
205/70/14 front tires
255/60/15 rear tires

Just got it on the road this spring. Haven't been to a track yet.
The rear is making some wierd sounds. A F@&D 9" is planned for the winter.

Very nice car! Welcome to the board. Hope that rear end holds together till winter, but I doubt it. JackieB

Thanks for the welcome! I've been hanging around this board for ~10 years.

I don't abuse this car, but, I do "use" what it's got.
That's why the rear is steadily turning into junk metal.
I'm still pondering the choices of manufacturers of bolt-in 9" rears. I'd really like an 8.5" that was factory in some "performance" G-bodies of this era but their cost moved me right into the good stuff.

Actually most of them are good to deal with. I guess you get what you pay for. JackieB

I am new to this site and wanted to take a look at your 1979 Malibu.
Why can't I see your pictures?
I put a DTS (Drive Train Specialties) Rear end in my 1980 Malibu.
All set up with posi, 4:11 gears and ships ready to bolt right in.
Just add gear lube!
You can even choose if you want it in a F@$d 9" or Chevy 12 bolt.

Welllllll...... this post is 6-1/2 years old and the best guess is because the original hosting site is either no longer viable or, the OP deleted his pictures from said site.
