I had no idea I'd like these for a driver until I barrowed this one while my a/c was being serviced in one of my other cars, I never gave it back! I'm having a ball with it.

Looks nice. Is it an automatic and which engine does it have in it? What kind of gas mileage are you getting? Maybe to hard to tell this soon and you've probably not taken on an trips yet.

It's the 2.4 H.O., I laugh at the HO designation and no way am I using premium fuel to avoid "reduced performance". First tank was normal mix of driving and I got 25.7, trip computer said 24.8 but calculator said 25.7. Mine is an a/t. I just don't want a Manuel in my daily driver. It's just a lot of fun to drive, handles way better than I expected and it has the soft ride package. It has good power, 0-60 around 8 seconds, but 20-60 where you really drive is in the high fives which is more like a car with a 7.5 0-60. 4 bangers just don't have the low end torque to do the standing start.

My 2007 does not have the spoiler on the rear of the roof. I have heard that the back window gets plastered with more dirt with the spoiler than without. Mine is not TOO bad, but it seems to me that the spoiler should help. Have you had any experience with that yet? JB

The spoiler should make it better because it prevents the low pressure area immediately behind the car, I don't have any point of reference really, but it has less junk on it than my Tahoe gets. Not very scientific.

I can't promise how much help it is, I know on the older SUV's like full size Blazer it made a big difference, but while the silhouette is similar the aero is way different.

Good choice! I had a rental recently and really liked it. One of my friends has had a red "sedan delivery" style for a couple of years and loves it. I see no reason for people to buy foreign econoboxes when something as cool as the HHR can be had for the same money.

I think a sedan delivery version w/o the rear 2 doors Pro-Streeted would be Hot!

I love the HHR's shape.

Hey Randy, does the mirror bother you? Every time i drive one, i'm amazed that the mirror takes up about 25% of my forward vision.

Just wondering. I'm probably to big for one. I feel like i have to crouch down in the seat to see properly.

The only visibility issue for me is the rear seat head rest but I keep both back sets folded down 90% of the time.

These things are a gas to drive. I have a black one and the thing is crazy fast for a 2.0L 4 cyl. Mine will be a DD, but once the snow's gone.

I think the're very cool for the $$$. Any problems with the engine, auto tranny, brakes or?? I'll check out some more posts here later but thought I'd ask as we may buy one a year old or so. Out here in southern Utah & Vegas the HHR's can be had for about 9-10K pretty much as new or new. I'll also look for the "soft ride package". A used SS would really be cool too...

Thanks Randy, and options we should look for in a 2009 or 2010 model? We've seen a few here for sale at 10k in red & silver with little or no mileage, moon roof, all power, but just thought to ask if there are any "got to have" options?

In my opinion, the 2.4 and chrome trim package. The 2.4 is head and shoulders quicker than the 2.2 and gets virtually identical mpg. The chrome package replaces all the silver painted stuff such as grille, mirrors and door handles. Now these are my opinions.

Thanks Randy, yes, it's been awhile from checking out new Chevys to buy, my last being a 2003 Avalanche Z66 that's still like new. So I'll check for the 2.4L engine and the chrome package sounds good too. In my opinion this is a great body shape to have some body line pinstripes added to, in the right color combo of course...
