Had too. I'm pretty kind to my cars, except for my '57, but the evil German P car had it coming. I've got about 3500 miles on the new one and this was the first time that I've really hammered it. Dude was tailgating and all in a huff as we're going stoplight to stoplight to get to the freeway. Seemed I was in his way big time.
Funny, but all the vettes I've owned seem to get others worked up, Priuses, Porsche, Honda it doesn't matter. As we're getting on the freeway I catch a glimpse that he cut out of the onramp behind me and is going to cut me off to get in front. Uh uh. I had just shifted to third and as he is starting to come around I buried it. I didn't see what rpm I was turning (it didn't hit the rev limiter)as I had to see what was going on with him. All I saw was he was getting smaller in the mirror. Nailed fourth, foot welded to the floor and ran out of room. Poor guy got humiliated. As I got over the bridge and took my exit he's cooking up the hill in the left lane, top down with his little wingy thingy starting to rise with "CARRARA" splashed across the back.
I guess it's true, "Objects in mirror do get smaller".

I used to do that with annoying 5.0s in my C4 back in the day. Nothin' finer than sitting in the fast lane on a fourhundred series highway with a guy with more gold around his neck than his chiropractor recommends in your rearview, getting ever smaller as the 350 stretches it's legs.
I don't condone reckless driving, but... Good on you man. If for no other reason than to put a jackarse driver in his place.

Do you mean the 95 and older 5.0's or the 96+ 4.6's? For an engine as physically big as those modular motors are, they just aren't that impressive
The new Coyote 5.0 motor on the other hand would destroy a C4 and probably keep up handily with a non-Z06 C5. Sadly, it's still a Ford and not worth the metal it's cast out of.

Well, duhhhhhh. Bragging about smoking a sweet GTR in a Z06 that is modded isn't really cool.
