Probably not the motor, maybe it's the gears, I hear they are made of plastic.

I think there are brass ones you can get somewhere.

Could be the "stop" that the lever hits when rotation is complete....Not sure how to get to that or how to adjust it...Sorry.

Has the car set any codes and if so what are they?

If no codes, check relay #44 in the passenger footwell electrical center, that's the relay that operates headlight doors.

It's your headlight gear. It's mad of plastic and they are prone to stripping out. Replace it with a brass gear. All the corvette vendors sell them. It's a fairly simple job. In fact there's some good videos on youtube showing how it's done. The corvetteforum has some good writeups too. This also will clear up the problem of having the lights pop up when just the parking lights are turned on. If you have any questions, let me know. I've done this procedure many times.

Agreed with the comments that it is the plastic gear that needs to be replaced. I sell a kit for the 97-99 and 00-04 'Vette. If yours is the 97-99 (which came with a metal headlight actuator housing with a side cover attached with 3 screws) and you don't know the vehicle service history, you will need to confirm that it still has the metal housing. It could have been changed by a PO or the dealer to the 00-04 plastic housing. The brass gear in either kit is the same, but the instructions differ and I include a gasket with the 97-99 kit vs 2-part urethane and a t-brace for the later kit.
