Stock 1947.
I tried to remove the bulb from the head, but after I removed the nut, the bulb seems to be stuck. I pulled a little bit with a pair of plyers, but it wouldn't come out. Afraid I might break it off. I sprayed some Kroil in the hole and am letting it set. Hope to break it loose. The tube has been cut when the PO removed the dash.
Any ideas?

If the tube has been cut, you aren't going to break the gauge any worse than it already is now. Assuming you are planning to re-use the head, you don't want to risk damaging the seat that the bulb seals against. Try drilling a hole in the bulb and use a screw extractor on it.
A gauge repair outfit will be able to put a new tube and bulb on your present dash unit if you can't find a replacement.

Went out this afternoon and tried the plyers again and it popped right out. Guess the soaking worked. Going to put an aftermarket mini gage set up on it for now. Need to referbish the stock gages I have.
Thanks for your comment raycow.
