I attended CFAC last year and had a great time meeting all the Chevytalk gang and seeing all the great cars. I also took the time to get the PSA and DRE they offered for free. My PSA was very close to normal, but they found a small lump on my prostate during the DRE. I checked it out with my doctor after I got the results from the tests at CFAC. My urologist did a biopsy. The result is that I do have early stage prostate cancer. I am having surgery next month and my prognosis is great. I thank God that I took the few minutes to take the free screening at CFAC and caught the cancer early.

So the take home message is: Take the time to get screened at CFAC. Did I mention it's free? If you are not going to CFAC and over 50 please see you doctor and get screened.

I look forward to seeing everyone at CFAC this year.

Mike

Great news, Mike! We too were tested at CFAC last year. It's an excellant opportunity for all to get tested. Luckily my count was low. I'm glad to hear that you have a clean bill of health.

I get tested twice a year, once at CFAC, and once by my doctor. It's a lifesaver......

Mike that is great news man!
I think this year I will also step up to the digital exam. Nothing like going high tech...
So I wonder what the digital exam equipment looks like. Must be really small because I have been in the motorhome and never seen it...

Follow up: I had my prostate removed on Oct 20th. I had a follow-up with my surgeon this week and got great news, my PSA is undetectable! My recovery is on track. My wife and I have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! Thanks again to CFAC and all my Chevytalk friends!

Get your PSA checked every year if you are 50 or over.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Mike

Glad to hear!!! Life is too precious to lose it to a bad bug like cancer!!!

A childhood friend had that operation...cancer free ever since!

I know this is an old thread but it is time to update it.
I got my results back and for the second straight year my total PSA was 0.4. Three years ago it was 0.3 which was the same dating back to 2008 so since 2008 it has only changed 0.1.
At 63 years old I feel blessed.
