Are the 1956 Nomad chassis frames the same as the 1956 Hardtop car chassis frames?

Was the 1956 Nomad offered in solid single body color?

The chassis is the same but the body mounts vary. The 2 & 4 door sedan and 2 & 4 door wagon and the nomad have the same body mounts. The hardtop has an extra mount under the quarter panels. The 4 door hardtop has additional mount near the rear kick I believe. And the 9 passenger wagon has an additional mount in the rear under the 3rd seat.

I don't know on the solid color on the 56. I don't think so, but I am told that 57 did have a solid color. I believe there is some disagreement on that issue tho.

I can't vouch for the accuracy of the attached spec information, but it appears that in addition to Code 687 Onyx Black, which was offered on all models, the Bel Air series was also offered in Code 752 Inca Silver. I noted that another Bel Air paint code had excluded the Nomad Model 1064DF, but that notation wasn't made for paint code 752. So maybe the '56 Nomad was available in the solid colors of Onyx Black and Inca Silver. The information is found on pages 187 and 188, which are actually pages 6 and 7 of the link below.

Is a retro-ed '56 nomad frame with coil over front, tube "A" arms, rack and pinion steering, front disc brakes, 4 link coil over rear (Stock housing) worth trying to sell?

Yes. It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

Post some pics and describe its condition a bit more.
And post where (in this giant sized country we live in) the frame is in...your geography will dictate how much you get for it.

Did you hear back about the 56 Frame with upgrades? Just curious. I live North of you about 65 miles.
