I would check EBAY for a Corvette owner, not necessarliy a dealer. Also Check the publications like Corvette Trader and similar publications available to you locally. How far are you willing to travel? I went about 100 miles to buy my C5 and was happy with the car and the deal. I am normally hesitant to go to a dealer unless I know someone there with first hand information about the car I want. If it's traded in with the previous owner's name and references available on the car, again, I'd go for it. Your car choice and your money. C5's have never been for plentiful or cheaper. You are in the driver's seat! Good luck!

I found mine at a good dealer (Rydell in the SFV), came with extended warranty. You also might try sources already lised, plus www.usedCorvettesforsale.com These are C5's, lots to choose from, I personally enjoyed that my used car came with a 3 yr/ 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, and my dealer has taker GREAT care of me, the Corvette and all my GM cars. Mike,
If you're not in too big of a hurry to get the car, go to a local Vette club meeting where you live. We have a couple of big clubs here in St. Louis. The members always have some for sale, or know where the good ones are to buy.

I've always wanted a Corvette. I was leaning towards a '95 ZR1...oh, that LT5 motor!
I sold my '57 150 sedan in January '06 during the construction of our new home...I was also tired of car shows and inconsiderate spectators.
I spent the next six months looking at later model Corvettes (I wanted warranty for that much money), specifically '03-04 Z06 cars, mostly which were out of state.
In June '06, I found my '04 Z16 just 100 miles from home. It was completely original, had just 3,800 miles and a 0 deductible extended warranty until 2010/60,000 miles. The seller agreed to my offer, but refused my earnest money! He wanted a handshake only. A week later I returned to pick up the car. I discovered why he needed the space in his garage...he had a red '03 Commemorative Convertible and a brand new black '06 Z06 occupying his garage already. He also had two daily drivers...a single man with five cars and a taxing job that didn't allow him to enjoy them.
It was a great drive home that day!
It probably won't remain stock...

Now I remember why I left... |

We found our vette on www.CARS.com. But, I was using craigslist alot. In fact, I had 4 vettes lined up in Southern California (I live up in the San Francisco, Bay Area) and told the wife that we would come home with one of them. But, found this C4 30 miles from home on cars.com called him, went up with the wife, drove it and bought it!
I use craigslist alot. But, you have to be patient. Your "perfect" car is out there waiting for you. Good Luck!

I bought my Vette and my daughters car from carmax.com. The advantage is you can look at what is available with the options and color you want and the price before you have to go there. They will also transport a car to their delear near you for a small cost.
Thanks,

I found my 2001 Navy Blue Metallic Z51 car in a weekly free publication named Camera Ads. I have the Dealership’s ad before I bought the Vette, and the publication the following week with SOLD printed at the top of the same pic.
