I have a 1942 chevy 1/2 ton pickup.

Wow, that's a rarity! Another '42 to add to my database! Is there any evidence of military markings under the paint, say?
1942 engines ran # 3761522 - 3815004, and "C" indicates light Commercial, 1/2 to 3/4 -ton. The numbers break down 1 - 1942 Model; 1314 = 1/2 ton Pick-up delivery, 115 inch wheelbase; engine number as explained; 1284th pick-up body built in Oshwa, Ontario, Trim is the number for the style which seems to be the standard one for pick-ups that year, Chevy or GMC, and paint is the Canadian code: 230, 233 and 234 are known on pick-ups.
1942 production started September 1941, and civvy ended January 15th 1942, with military continuing on. If the engine is original, the casting date code on the block wil tell you when Windsor Transmission Plant built the engine: all castings were by The McKinnon Industries Ltd in St Catherins, Ontario then they had to be railed or roaded to Windsor, then again to Oshawa, so allow two to three weeks at least for final assembly from the casting date?

Thanks for the info on my truck.
The truck doesn't have the original motor or drive train it. The color on the truck is a light green color and I don't know if is original or not. It is not running at the present time and Iam just starting to do tear down of it. I just finished building a shop so I can work on it.
