Hey, I have a '79 K-10 Silverado with a 350 and a 3-spd auto and have a couple of questions.

When the transmission is shifting from 1st to 2nd it sort of knocks when it hits 2nd gear when I'm gradually accelerating and not down to the floor.

Also, I have to really slam the doors to get the second latch to could I solve this?

Hi, I,ll check with my brother on the trans problem. But check the torque converter bolt they may be loose. the door problem.Look for worn out hinge pin bushings. you can tell by lifting the rear of the door. if you notice a lot of move ment, then thats a big PART of the problem. another problem could be the striker (latch) bolt is loose or damaged from a sagging door. If so replace the bolt. Don;t forget to put the shim washers back in! the head of the bolt should be centered in the latch it self. Also look and make sure the area around the bolt is not cracked from slamming the door.Old body guy.
