have a 1997 suburban and the power seat wont go forward or back, looked in the search column but nothing turned up? Is there an easy fix?
when you move the swithc back or forward there is just a Grinding of gears sound.

Thank you for any help

Hey Az58Cameo,

Just pull the four bolts holding the seat down
and then flip the seat back and take a vice grip
pliers to the center round shaft and rotate the seat back to a more comfortable position!

Oh, OK, Thanks Lol.....

Would you mind looking at the driver seat where the front left of seat bolts to seat base and tell me if there is an adapter between the two? I am currently using zip tie to hold it down. I thought something was broken with the base so I bought a used power base and now beginning to think there must have been an adapter bracket or similar. I do not have the time to be down a vehicle so I need to make sure I have everything before starting the fix.

Likely one of the shafts is stripped.
If you can get a donor track assembly that would be your best bet.
Although they do not commonly fail it can happen.
A good used track will be less than trying to find replacement parts for it
