Normal driving it is fine shift at about 35 mph but put down the accelerator to the floor and it won't shift into 4th , I've run it up to 6500, all the rest of the gears are fine/. 1987 Camaro 355 built.

Under full throttle you may not get a 3-4 shift til 75, depends on the governor calibration.

Ok, throttle linkage adjustment is checked first, then get to the governor, check for its normal operation, got to get it out to do this. No mods to the valve body?

I'm just gonna ask, but are you sure that you have a 4-speed automatic? Just asking...

Yes it is a 700R4 , here is the problem that I found out weeks ago- a 700r4 was designed not to shift into 4th at full power. I should have responded with this information. Don't ask me why , I will find out but I haven't yet. Thanks folks.

I can understand that. With the pedal on the floor, the throttle cable is keeping from the overdrive shift. Makes sense.
