What a black eye on Nascar for this weekend's races at Indy! From lap 1 of the Xfinity race until the last lap of the Cup race, chaos reigned with the curbs and turtles.

If they can't get a course that's suited to the cars, don't race on it. Likewise, band aid fixes to the course should last at least the length of a race.

I don't know if the situation originated with Nascar or IMS, perhaps they should equally pony up and send each competitor a $100,000 check.

This was as bad as the COTA disaster where they didn't throw the red flag until way too late.

To me, just another addition to the downfall of Nascar. As some may remember, I am boycotting Nascar. I disconnected everything Nascar and will no longer attend any races. But, I still like Oval Tracks, most of the Drivers and the Racing itself. I still watch most of the TV coverage that I can receive on my Antenna TV. This way Nascar doesn't even know I'm watching it, otherwise I wouldn't.

Now the real purpose of this reply is to mention my discovery last night. I could not believe that they did it again. One of the most "interesting" races of the season and NBC goes and cuts the race short after the 2nd red flag. Reminded me of that infamous football game years ago. So, I go to the Radio (also by Antenna).

One channel that used to call themselves "The Racin' Station" no longer broadcasts it. Went to another station, nope. Another and another and another, nothing no where.

Years ago, we had about about 5 or 6 channels in this area. If one went a little out of range, you just switch to another.

Where I live is where Nascar started. SW Virginia and NW North Carolina.

What is this telling us?

I recorded the race to watch it last night. I sat through several red flag stops while they tried to keep the track from destroying cars. I was wanting to see if Dennie Hamlin would win his first race of the season, or Kyle Larson win his second race in 24 hours or Chase Briscoe win his first race with his family and friends in the stands watching. My reward for my patience was missing the ending of the race. It was also NBC who cut the football game to show the movie "Heidi" in 1968. I was very unhappy with IMS and NBC.

Just go to Nascar.com and watch the last 2 laps. What a mistake Chase Briscoe made taking out Hamlin...after he was penalized for missing a turn and then acted like he was racing for the win.

Some boneheadedness going on there.

Gongrats to AJ Humdinger for the win.

They showed the end of the race on NBCSN. I was really surprised, they stuck with the race at the beginning of the last red flag for a bit and thought they were going to finish, then switched from the mother channel to show golf, which the "big guy" at NBC must really love a lot.

I'm surprised that Hamlin didn't just deck Briscoe after the race, he deserved it. Briscoe kept saying he didn't know he was penalized, and that he "didn't mean to" - but he did it, didn't he?

My thoughts:
-- The race was great up until the the curbing came apart with 6 laps to go.
-- It was a good call to remove the curbing altogether.
-- After the removal of the curbing, the drivers who hit the perpendicular curb at that corner are idiots.
-- TV broadcasters suck when they cut away with two laps to go --> BS. I had DVR'd it and watched most of it on Monday. I watched the end of the race on RaceHub.
-- I wanted Larson to win, but good for AJ and Kaulig Racing.

I was pulling for Larson to win too.

After my guy Truex got his car taken out by the debris coming off that curb earlier.

They all wanted to race that corner so agressively that the day before (in the Xfinity race), the other speed bump on the outside of the turn was absolutely demolishing cars who hit it.
So they removed it for Sundays Cup race.

Track building in progress I guess...

Just read where an Xfinity crew chief (#39 car) was suspended for 4 races because his car lost a wheel at Indy.

Does this mean that Nascar race control brass will be suspended 4 races too? Or get fired?
