Hi im looking for a 1972 ish Nova with no luck but have found a solid 72 Ventura. Does the 72 Ventura share the same bodyshell with the 72 Nova other than the front end panels ? If it is the same body shell can 72 Nova front end panels bolt straight onto a Ventura to make it look like a Nova ? Thanks In Advance.

The entire front sheet metal/bumper/etc will swap directly. The rear tail light panel is the same, except for the longer Pontiac tail lights, but that can be swapped out also. I imagine the interior is probably a different pattern. I had a 72 Nova SS I bought new, and was one of those cars I should have kept. I too have thought about looking into the Ventura as a "donor" car to build a Nova. Same story with the Olds Omega, and Buick Apollo, along with the Pontiac Ventura; all basically the same, and major parts swap easily. X platform cars. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Many thanks, ive always noticed how similar they are. Once this virus is done (if im still here ) i will pop over from the UK and look for a Nova alternative as they seem to be cheaper than actual Nova s. Do you think there are many Nova s that year in junk yards so i could buy a car and the parts to convert it. ? Thanks

Many of the body parts will interchange if you use complete assemblies from the same years. the taillight assemblies are longer on the Ventura, but if you use the whole tail assembly that fits between the trunk lid and rear assembly that works as well. I have changed drum brakes on a 72 to discs from a 73. This works best if you have a disc brake car for a parts car. When I was playing with the Nova/Omega/Ventura/Apollo type X bodies I kept a couple of parts cars around to keep my good one going.

Out of curiosity, how do you guys pronounce Ventura.
Ven-tura, Venchura or something else.
Thanks

Ven-tura. With the end pronounced like the end of mature, but with an a at the end.
