We have a 1983 G30 Van camper. It has 16.5 dual style wheel on it now in 16.5. There must have never been a option of 16 inch in 1983. Searches come up with only 16.5 If so what year is good for change to 16.

Is there two lug nut hole sizes..

Is there diferent style of lug nuts and flanges.

thank you stano

OK i might got some of more knowleadge figured out in the lug nut area.

i see there is two lug nut sizes maybe 9/16 with socket 1 1/16 inch and 5/8 with socket 15/16 inch,,for the style lug nut that has a flat flange that rotates on the wheel side of the nut.

i could not figure what the lug nut with threads also on the out side of the nut, but still has the flat flange are and how they work. Untill just a few minutes ago. Are the threads on the outside of the lug nut for a plastic fake dress nut cover. And this nut works just like the lugnuts without the outside threads. I was thinking that these lugnuts was for something special and a special wheel and i might have that wheel..

for wheels that need a flat back flange lug nut. must need a wheel with a lug nut hole the same size as the hub lug nut bolt. are there two types 5/8 and 9/16 inch bolt and lug nut holes.

Also would this set up need a hub collar and wheel center hole the same size to seat up, in order to line up centering. i am now thinking this must be one type of set up..

probally later. can some one tell me what years.

hope i am close.

Is there a earlier style maybe 1979 that has a angle flange style lug nut and no flat swivel flange. if so i will have to figure how that style works..

I feel there is two styles..and i want to know about them. I seem when looking for wheels. the shops go back to the year 2000 and not many go older??????

Our chevy is parked at the kids house and should get it here in a couple of days.

Once we have this figured out then we know what to watch for..

thank you for your help stano

My friend had a similar problem, but found a bunch of old Head Start buses in a salvage yard. Some had 16.5, some had 16, problem solved.

Well what we have so far is 1976 to 1988 are there own wheel. There is a center bore of 4.56 and maybe 4.60, not sure what years had these bore. only think there is a 16.5 and 16.

Not sure if or if needed,, bolt circle retainer ring with to small pins on oposite sides is needed. i am only assuming this bolt circle retainer ring also helps center wheel. but hub center hole should do that also?????

not working out like i thought it would..

but have to find out what is the only right way to do this if possible..

thank you for your help stano

I had the same problem with an '85 Lindy with a G30 chassis. I did a lot of searching and asking around and came to the conclusion that I needed wheels and tires off a ~'90 Chevy Van. Looks like that wheel was used from '89 to at least 2002. Wheels are 16" and tires were 225/75 R16. Speedometer is a little off because of the diameter change, but it's not a lot. Wheels fit fine, and had the same center bore as the wheels that came off. I used http://car-part.com to find a local wrecking yard that had 6 wheels for me.
