I have a 86 Silverado that the 700R Trans all of a sudden stopped shifting into OD. Any suggestions as to where to start looking for a resolution.

Welcome to the site. Does it have RPM gauge? Are you sure it's not shifting too early or late into OD? Check the TV cable before driving again. Use this method to adjust the cable.

Is the lock up converter working?
