I have a 1970 k20 with 4:10 gearing and 285 tires. Current trans is the SM465. Can't really go much faster than 55mph without revving the engine higher than I like. I'm looking to pull that and upgrade it with a more modern, and better manual that will allow the truck to cruise at modern day freeway speeds comfortably. I'm open to suggestion to what trans I should upgrade too, as at this point I have no idea which trans to be looking at. Tremec?

Hmmm, since you have a 4 wheel drive (K20) your options are really limited. Not well read on the trannys with transfer cases attached but would see if there were some early 700r4s with transfer cases available. This would give you a OD. But if you want to stick with a manual, I'm thinking a gear ratio change in the front and rear diffs. $$$ :sad :
