Anyone converted a long bed to a short bed ? Anyone know of a place in the Houston area that does that type of work ? I know brothers has a kit with a template for $470 to cut the frame. I think new bed sides are $599 each if i went that route. Not sure what someone would charge to cut the existing fleetside bed from long to short.

Don't know what year your truck is (62?) but I did this years ago on a Ford. It was a 1948 F-3 which has a long bed and I converted it to an F-1. You just need to figure out where to cut and how much on the frame and weld it back together. It required two cuts on mine. The first just behind the cab and then the second off the end since the longer bed has more of an overhang. I would imagine your Chevy would be similar. It's not rocket science. If you can weld you can do it yourself. Good luck on it!

I have a red and white 62 impala which is the reason for my username. The truck is a 1966 C-10. I saw a shop that specialized on the conversion in another state but not sure if there is one in the Houston area.
