Don't know what year your truck is (62?) but I did this years ago on a Ford. It was a 1948 F-3 which has a long bed and I converted it to an F-1. You just need to figure out where to cut and how much on the frame and weld it back together. It required two cuts on mine. The first just behind the cab and then the second off the end since the longer bed has more of an overhang. I would imagine your Chevy would be similar. It's not rocket science. If you can weld you can do it yourself. Good luck on it!
