welcome to ct. i would unplug the wiring from the lower column under the dash. im thinking purple wire. should be the same color as the one on the starter. then i would apply 12 volts to the wire going to the starter to see which one it is. dont know how you will be wiring it but i would use 12 gauge wire. actualy i would use a cube relay with 12 gauge pigtail at the starter and 14 gauge the rest. also reusing the original start wire at the starter to trigger the relay. if that makes sense.

bobb, thanks for reply.i'm at the very start of this project.want to put in a new key switch without a start action and use a push button to start.i planned to bypass the column switch. i just don't know what wires to tap into and what terminals the new switch will need,2,3,4? what do you think?

new keyswitch in the dash? column lock delete? i would put 12 volts to the existing wiring to find the starter wire. i would 1st choose purple or pink.
