I've got a Chevy 454 that was running just fine. Then the coil went out. When I replaced that (with a new distributor cap as well), the engine began running poorly.
1. On initial acceleration, it lags and then bursts into power.
2. It'll stall out on idle. When I turn up the idle, no real help.

It is just a standard distributor sending fire to spark plugs.

When changing the cap is it on straight? Mixed up plugs wires? No vacuum lines got left off or broke? Rotor removed to look at something?
