Hello all,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this question but does anybody know where I can purchase a few rebuild kits for a '64 283 mechanical fuel pump? Looking for diaphragm, spring, valves, rubber gaskets, etc. It's for the original ACDelco fuel pump. I haven't taken it apart yet to get the M/N but I was hoping ACDelco used only one model for their 283's. Oh yeah...only 'Merica made rebuild kits; I don't want any cheap, overseas aftermarket knock-off stuff in my equipment.

Thanks in advance for the help.

- Mike

Looks like they can handle a lot of different items.

I have been using Then and Now for many years now, for all my rebuild pumps. Fast service, and great quality.

Never argue with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

I purchased one from showcars automotive for my 283 pump I used on my 348. Don't know if it American or not but it's held up for the last 6yrs trouble free...

What they sold 6 years ago, might not be the same as they are selling today. I always base my recommendations on recent experiences.

IF it is still of the same type and quality it was back then, then I think 6 years time with today's garbage fuel makes it a pretty good indication that it was a good product..
Hard to tell if it will last 6 years only until it does..

All depends on the "if" it's still the same...

Done lots of carb system rebuilding soft parts and it seems pretty hit or miss, no matter where it comes from.

Thanks, Steve! I ended up getting the kit from Then and Now auto, and it was at my doorstep in 2 days. Rebuilt the pump and she leaks no more and the inlet valve is back in its port.

Thanks again!
