To properly diagnose this the Sirs functions must be scanned for fault codes, a normal Obd scanner will not access this info. You must be careful doing any work on Air Bags.

Extremely likely the failure is the impact sensor. Located under the radiator. Have probably changed 100 of them. Is accessed from under the truck. 1 torx bolt.
Worth noting that threads are reverse

Good info; any recommended diag procedure before shotgunning it? That sucker is nearly $200.

IIRC Dorman makes them. But I go with OEM as I find Dorman parts seem to have a 1 year life span.
If Code relates to driver side impact sensor, or related I would go for that.
Having the code would help to pinpoint it
I have seen so many swell, split in half, corrode. Especially in the winter. They must get water inside and when it freezes it splits
Rockauto has it for 115. WVE brand
Part # 5S13674 for regular cab or extended cab but not crew cab.

It is indeed the front driver side sensor. $230
Neighbor owns a body shop and has one ordered. From who?? Should be in and installed by Tuesday.
Thanks for the response.
