The old correct manual trans fluid for a NV4500 5 speed was gm 12346190.SAE 75-85 GL4. It’s been discontinued, like a lot of parts. What would be the correct fluid to use now so not to damage the carbon fiber parts? I’ve seen many different posts about the right one to use now and all had different numbers and weights. I do put a Heavy load on the truck from time to time.

Are you sure it's discontinued? You can buy it on Amazon, Summit, multiple GM online dealers...

If a dealer is telling you it's discontinued and can show proof, I believe you. I haven't needed to buy any in several years so I have not personally tried. However, a quick search shows it is out there for purchase.

I would not use anything else in an NV4500. Either GM 12346190 ("Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid") or Mopar 4874459 ("Synthetic Manual Transmission Lubricant") both are the Castrol Syntorq LT product which as far as I know cannot be bought in the Castrol label, only as GM or Mopar OEM products.

Best I can come up with Richard is a new number from GM. The long number is 19369226. Short # 10-4119. Synthetic manual trans fluid 75w-85 GL4.
I see some, summit, that state the GM # 12346190, but the weight is wrong. Says 75w-90 GL4 with the short GM # 10-4059.
My book says use the 75-85w. Which do I use? REALLY don’t want to burn up my New NV4500 tranny. Cost a whole lot to get it rebuilt.
