Has anyone used a glide engineering bench seat in their Nomad? After driving the Nomad the past five decades through over half of the continental U.S., it is now getting a total rebuild. Wife would like a seat that reclines. I don't want to change the look of the interior too drastically. Glide Engineering offers a split bench that reclines and has a center arm rest. Any thoughts? Thank You

Be very careful if you order one...... I bought and ordered mine for my 57 Nomad..... When it showed up I took it right to a upholstery shop and had it done in stock material and colors....... When I got it back $$$$$$$.... and went to install it in the car, the seat backs were too wide and didn't fit...... I called and asked what happened and they said they must have shipped the wrong seat and sent me out new seat back frames that were tapered to fit..... But.... Getting them re-upholstered was on my dime......Just say'in !!!!

Thank you for the heads up, I saw that they have more than one style of backrest. I see you are from Wisconsin. Will you be attending the Nomad Convention in July? If so, I will see you there!
Do you happen to have a picture of your seat installed, I haven't seen the Glide seat in a Nomad yet! Thank You

Thanks for the link to the pic of your glide seat! Nice to know that option is out there. Any regrets on that seat? I assume the seats were custom upholstered, and that you had to send the seats to them for the work to be done? Was that a local shop?
Thanks! Doug

Glide seats have a reputation for disappointment.

They are not an authentic replacement - cushions thinner and wider/narrower. Not as durable as a stock seat. Unless they've changed them from 15 years ago or so, which I doubt.

Yes...... a local shop did all the work........ Now that it is finished it is a 1000 times more comfortable than the stock seat !!!!!
