I'm working on a 1960 Biscayne with the 235 straight six. The distributor is missing the vacuum advance. In my search, I can't seem to find a complete unit. What I need to find is the clamp that fits onto the distributor body and to the lever on the vacuum canister. I can find all kinds of the vacuum canisters that bolt to the block, but not the actual clamp. If I were to buy a NOS unit on ebay that's still sealed in the box, would it include that? None of the used ones listed show it. What am I not understanding here...?

You might check out this Facebook site:

It's a Chevy straight six group. Very helpful bunch. I was able to successfully use this site to locate parts to rebuild my 235 last year. John

I think the replacement vacuum cannisters do not include the clamp should not be hard to find a used distributor or clamp just be aware earlier model chevs like 1954 the vacuum mechanism is different to later ones.
I know this as I owned a 1954 chev and they sent me a later model and would not work, also with the vacuum cannisters do not buy a NOS one as the rubber in them breaksdown I had a NOS Borg Warner unit and it would not hold a vacuum.
