I am restoring a 59 Impala sedan (4 door). I have the original front bench seat but would like to install a set of bucket seats and a center console. Has anyone done this before (I am sure it has been done) and can let me know what bucket seats you used (i.e., Chevy Camaro 1994, etc). I purchased a set of 2006 Honda Accord manual seats to ease the electrical installation. I dry fitted them in place. But they are a little too tall as the steering is resting on my thighs. Also the seat seems to be too far back not allowing enough leg room for the rear passengers. I like the look of the Accord seats as they are square in shape.

Also I bent the seat track down as much as possible already to compensate for the height issue...

This was a "thing" back when I was a kid (16) :smile : . My first car was a 58 Impala with a broken front bench seat. Went to the salvage yard and picked up a pair of buckets that came out of a mid 60s mopar. Made floor brackets in metal shop. Looking back now sixty years later, it really looked dumb! If I were to do something like that today I would find a pair of early 60s Impala SS buckets to make it look halfway decent. My 2 cents.

Look at Durango buckets, seat belt bolts to seat, and half of them are power, and recline.

They asked me, why a Four door, and a Six, and I told them, JUST BECAUSE.

If you're restoring it to original, a 59 sedan delivery came standard with a single driver seat and RPO 263 was an optional right front auxiliary seat so if you found a pair of them, you'd have original 59 bucket seats. But good luck finding them...

Cheers, Carl.
