Bought a new Edelbrock 650cfm carburetor and the 56' Handyman has a accelerator rod (BLUE).
Does anyone know of a bushing kit that fills the hole to get the slop out?
Thanks in Advance

The blue rod is backwards, the adjustable end is the carb end,
But you are asking about a bushing for the carb linkage to the gas pedal rod threaded adjustable end.
I'm sure those big places that sell all those performance things has what you need.
But I made my own for '56 gas pedal rod to a Holley.
So turn that blue rod around, find a piece of rubber tubing/ grommet that fits the hole in the carb, then piece of tubing of some sort that will fit over the adjustable end piece, make it fit in the grommet, sand down two washers that fit over the adjustable rod end until a cotter pin will fit in the adjustable rod end.
Makes sense ?
Then turn the throttle return spring around and put it through the hole in the gas pedal arm.

Thanks for the quick reply, good suggestions and great pictures. I tried a few carb vendors for a bushing kit without any luck. A grommet the correct size is the way I'll go.

Yes Sir, I did contact Edelbrock without much success.
Travs55 seems to be the best permanent solution and I will contact Chicago Carburetor for their bushing.
As a temp fix I found this at Autozone. It fit well, snapped into both linkage pieces, but will need to be drilled for a cotter pin insurance.
Thanks again everyone.
