All,

I took the generator off the 48 to get it rebuilt last year. I started messing with it this week and I can’t get it to output anything. They say to test if it’s working, bridge the terminals, ground the - of the battery to the frame of the generator, connect the + of the battery to the bridged terminals and it should spin like a motor.. doesn't work . I took it back to the alternator guy and he put it on his bench and tested it and he said it looked ok. At this point before going down the line, i want to make sure the generator works before i start looking at the regulator and such.

Thoughts?

Did he spin the generator up? How? What was the voltage output?
