1966 Biscayne. Went to fire her up, turned the key and nothing. No slow turning, no solenoid clicking, just nothing. The battery is fully charged and it started and ran fine yesterday. I pulled the ignition switch out of the dash. It is the original switch. Everything looks good on the contacts and the connector side. Is there any way to test the function of the switch to see if I have current across the contacts. I have a good multimeter. If not the switch the problem must be further back in the starting system.

its a 4 speed, no neutral safety switch,. I put her in neutral when I start , or push in the clutch if in gear.

This is probably not it but, check your grounds. Battery to engine block, engine block to body and body to frame. If after that nothing happens, take a hammer and whack the starter body.
