I am installing a Classic update harness in my 65 impala. I need to replace the headlight bulbs. Can I use Wagner H5006 and H5001 style sealed beam bulbs? Or Sylvania equivalent. I have read that they use more power. Thanks

are the wires big enough for halogens?

I used a pair of relays to power mine. Dimmer switch selects relay.

I agree Monty56. He has new wires but still goes through ign., headlight switch and dimmer. Relays avoid the big drag on these three.

Sorry that I'm just now seeing this. Our Classic Update system will handle standard halogens without an issue. the wires are up-sized and the H/L and Dimmer switches will handle a constant load of about 18 amps. From our testing, most 4-bulb halogen sealed beam systems will have a draw of about 12.5-13 amps.
